On-Site Problem:

  • Worn and scratched Sliding Plates due to friction, affecting rail expansion and safety.
  • Typically, these need to be replaced with new ones imported from abroad.

 

 

Innovative Solution

Custom Formula Development: 

Researched and developed a surface coating material from nickel alloys (Ni Alloys) with high hardness, excellent wear resistance, and pressure tolerance.

Advanced Coating Process: 

Uses High-Velocity Oxygen Fuel (HVOF) technology to create a coating that tightly adheres to the original part, has low porosity, and superior mechanical properties.

 

 

Laboratory Test Results

  • 2X Harder: Drastically improves scratch and wear resistance.
  • 10X More Corrosion Resistant: Ultra-low 3.73 µm/year rate for long-term protection.
  • Smoother & More Durable: Lower friction coefficient and >50 MPa adhesion strength.
  • Microstructurally Sound: Dense, low-porosity layer with no phase change, proven by SEM.

  • Repaired and installed the Sliding Plates at Lamphun Railway Station (15 January 2025)
  • Quality controlled and approved by SRT officers.
